A little Vegas knowledge can go a long way

Why made me start this site?If I had to try and encapsulate the aim of this website, then I guess the following scenario would be a good example of how I hope to be able to offer travellers with some assistance.

My parents stayed in Vegas as part of an organised tour through California and the desert in 2005. Whilst they had a great time on the tour they had no say over the hotels they stayed at in the various destinations. As a result, they ended up being placed in the Stratosphere for 4 nights when the tour reached Vegas. Now there isn’t anything ‘wrong’ with the Stratosphere as such, it’s just that it doesn’t tick a lot of the boxes that make a trip to Vegas great. Further to this they hadn’t done much research into what to do once they were in Vegas, so consequently they followed their noses, explored the resorts down the strip, had a couple of nice meals and on they went.

Wind forward to 2010 when my now wife and I announced we were planning to get married in Vegas in the autumn of 2011. This suggestion really didn’t sit well with my folks; “But we’ve been to Vegas and we don’t really want to go back”. Well, a little bit of gentle persuasion later coupled with me helping them to book the right flights, hotels and entertainment, once they got back home they had to (almost begrudgingly) admit that they’d had a really good time. Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that they’ll never go back to Vegas again, but I do know that they realised that there was a whole lot more to Vegas than they’d seen on their original trip and probably hadn’t given it a fair chance. This is why spending time researching and planning a trip are so important and can make such a huge difference in your enjoyment, not to mention how much money you can save in the process.

And that’s what this site is intended to help you with. So please read on, I hope that at least some of the information is of use, and if you have any further questions, comments or suggestions, then please use the contact page and I’ll do my best to follow-up.
